Hair Testing
Hair drug testing is a valuable tool for investigating long-term substance use behaviours. By analysing sections of hair for drugs and alcohol, a history or pattern of use can be established.
When substances enter the bloodstream, they are deposited in the hair follicle along with their metobolites. These deposits remain in the hair strand as it grows.
Analysing a length of hair enables the identification of drugs used and also if required over a specified period, for example over 6 months.
Our Collection Process
Our collection process is performed under a Chain of Custody procedure as it is legally defensable.
The collection procedure involves cutting locks of hair close to the scalp. Where able, our collectors will take hair from underneath where the hair naturally falls. This way the collection site is not usually visible. If there is no head hair we are able to collect body hair or nails instead.
